Case studies
We were commissioned by ParcelBroker, a UK-based parcel delivery comparison site, to assist them with a migration of their existing Laravel and core PHP web applications to the AWS Cloud. Their existing hosting infrastructure was not scalable and was causing latency for their customers during periods of peak demand. We worked closely with the development team at ParcelBroker to move their current and legacy apps to a stateless approach that enabled load-balancing within the AWS Cloud. We also set up GitHub Actions for continuous integration to perform automated atomic deployments and assisted the existing development team with transitioning their workflow.
We worked closely with the team at LickLibrary to migrate their 100k members from a legacy ASP.Net web application hosted on a pair of dedicated Windows Servers to a brand new Laravel-based web application hosted at AWS. At AWS the web app can now be easily scaled to cope with fluctuating traffic and can also take advantage of a broader array of modern web technologies such as Meilisearch and Redis. The solution also includes a Web Application Firewall (WAF) automation to provide a defence against brute force and DDoS attacks.
